A different approach to therapy

Therapy is never a one-size fits all process.  For some of us, walking while talking feels more comfortable, while others might prefer sitting on a sofa.  As a practitioner I pride myself on a flexible virtual or in-person approach that can be adapted for each client.  I have a lovely office space in the village of Wakefield, but also offer the following options....

Home-based therapy

Sometimes it's easier to talk things out in a familiar environment.  I am a "mobile therapist" which means I am happy to come to your home to see you or, we can do virtual sessions so you can chat in the comfort of your own space.  This can be an especially good fit for children and adolescents.

Walk & Talk

Nature-based therapy simply means incorporating nature into the therapeutic process. These sessions combine the benefits of "talking therapy" with being outdoors and moving the body. This practice has an increasing evidence base for significantly improving wellbeing.

Animal-assisted therapy

Animal-assisted therapy

Did you know that stroking a pet lowers your blood pressure and decreases anxiety?  In these sessions, we bring along our friendly guinea pigs as a cuddly accompaniment to the talk therapy process. Having an external focus is particularly effective when talking with kids and adolescents.
